Job Opportunity Digital Project Manager

Our boutique agency is seeking support for the on-going management of our clients’ digital marketing campaigns and overseeing our website maintenance and analytics offerings. The ideal candidate is a freelancer with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and a background in project management and / or digital strategy. If you have intermediate or higher experience with WordPress and WP Engine, that is a major plus. Our clients are a friendly and professional mix of small – medium-sized businesses in the health and wellness space as well as trade associations and labor unions in the maritime industry.


This is primarily a remote position, but you must be available during east coast business hours. Option to work at the WeWork “White House” MetSq building in downtown Washington D.C. The ideal candidate will be able to come into the office for on-boarding and some working sessions at inception, followed by monthly check-in meetings, but will primarily be working independently with minimal direct supervision. After a successful intro period, we are open to getting you your own reserved desk.


While you will have additional resources at your disposal for advanced WordPress configuration and troubleshooting,  configuration, website updates, and graphic design, to the extent you can manage these yourself, you’ll be awarded more work and a higher rate.

Job Summary

Right-hand (wo)man for CEO of fast-growing digital agency.Manage and oversee digital media projects for a variety of clients, from growing small/ medium-sized businesses to influential trade associations


Responsibilities and Duties 

Help CEO organize, manage, and standardize work processes to enable continued agency growth and profitability.


Team and Project Management

      • Following-up on client meetings: turning discussion points into action steps
      • Coordinate project timeline on Asana: who/what/when steps; connect with correct credentials, content, and references
      • Check and ensure all outstanding tasks and deliverables are on track
      • Check final products against discussions and client wishes



      • First point of contact for developers: confirm project details (e.g. timelines, budgets, location of resources)
      • Produce internal reference documents: onboarding summary document for temporary/new hires; formalizing processes; keep track of credentials; Draft emails, schedule meetings
      • Analytics and Website Maintenance Reporting


Qualifications and Skills 

Hard skills

  • Familiarity with WordPress: Able to make front-end content edits, perform quality assurance 
  • Digital Advertising: Familiarity with AdWords / Facebook Business Manager/ Twitter / LinkedIn 
  • We need at least one, preferably two or more, of the below: 
  • (strongly preferred) Google Analytics certified and experienced
  • (strongly preferred) experience working with a small agency
  • (strongly preferred) experience as a project manager in digital content development
  • (strongly preferred) basic graphic design skills/experience, basic video editing experience

Soft Skills

  • (required) Highly organized, great attention to detail, and proactive in catching mistakes and making suggestions
  • (required) Tact for client-facing interactions, e.g. courteous and concise emails and calls
  • (required) Ability to proactively solve problems and find solutions; ability to do high-quality, context-appropriate work with little supervision


  • Introductory Hourly Rate $30- $40 (Internal Admin / Training and On-Boarding: Weeks 1-2 )
  • On-Going Hourly Rate: $40-$60 (12-18 Hours / Week. Depending On Experience: Weeks 2+)
  • Generous bonuses for up-sells to existing clients, achieving project profitability goals. Transporation stipend.

After success on a few projects and tasks, our ideal candidate will move into an on-going monthly retainer to oversee client accounts, monitor, and improve on account performance. Opportunities for additional hours for project management and taking on fixed-fee projects are also available for new client on-boarding and more complex account configurations for e-commerce and B2C clients.
