The Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. (JLA) needed a native user-friendly mobile application that packaged all event promotional and logistic materials for a signature fund-raising event, the Tour of Kitchens.
There was a clear need to update and streamline the user experience for an event that’s been a signature fundraising resource for 20+ years.
Relying on paper handouts for touring homes and handwritten silent auction bidding had become antiquated and unappealing for guests and stakeholders and a unified mobile application was a solution that GSS had provided for a sister organization for the past two years, The Junior League of Washington (JLW).
GSS was engaged to design and develop the Junior League of Atlanta’s Tour of Kitchens mobile application, to provide core service functions for its attendees:
Tour Maps – Creation of in-app locations built on Google maps, to help guest navigate the tour and find information bout the home and designers; and
Silent Auction – Development and integration of ClickBid – a mobile bidding system – for the Toast of the Tour (kickoff event) silent auction, with a seamless bidding experience.
After a creative kickoff and visioning session, GSS initiated its design and project management process to develop a unified brand-feel for the application, before moving into development using our web-based application framework, BuildFire to launch the Tour of Kitchens application simultaneously for both Android and iPhone users.
